Fees & Terms of Engagement
Our fees reflect the seniority, expertise, and medico-legal experience of our nursing experts. We aim to provide a high-quality service with transparent and proportionate pricing.
Hourly Rate
Fee: £100 to £150 per hour
The hourly rate will depend on the complexity of the case, the seniority of the expert, and the nature of the instruction.
Initial Report
Fee: £800 to £1,800
Simple to moderately complex reports usually fall within this range.
Complex Reports
Fee: £1,800 to £3,000+
More complex matters involving substantial records, multiple issues, or detailed analysis may exceed the standard range.
Record Review
Typical range Fee: £300 to £1,500+, depending on the volume of records.
Charged at the applicable hourly rate
Conferences with Solicitors or Counsel
Our experts attend conferences with solicitors and counsel to discuss evidence, clarify opinions, and support case preparation.
Fee: £120 to £180 per hour
Addendum Reports
Addendum reports provide supplementary expert opinions or clarifications in response to new evidence, additional documentation, or specific questions arising after the original report has been completed.
Fee: £300 to £800
Joint Statement
Collaborative document outlining areas of agreement and disagreement between experts, CPR‑compliant
Fee: £350 – £1000
Court Attendance
Provide oral evidence in court, including travel and waiting time
Fee: £1,000 to £1,500 per day
Half-day attendance may be charged at £500 to £800, depending on the circumstances
Quantum Care Reports
Quantum care reports, care cost opinions and future care needs reports are priced according to complexity, records volume, assessment requirements and the level of analysis required.
Fee: £1,500 to £3,500+
Travel time
Travel time may be charged at the standard hourly rate or at a reduced agreed rate.
Fee Estimates
A fee estimate or quotation will be provided once we have reviewed:
the letter of instruction
the case summary
the volume of records
the issues to be addressed
any relevant deadlines
No work will commence without agreement on fees and terms.
Terms of Engagement
Instructions must be confirmed in writing
Fees must be agreed before work begins
A deposit, payment on account or payment in advance may be required before work commences.
Invoices are issued in accordance with agreed terms
The balance of fees may be required before the final report is released, unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing.
Cancellation fees may apply where work has already commenced
Court attendance is charged at the agreed rate
Cancellation Policy
If an instruction is cancelled, postponed or materially changed after work has commenced, fees may be payable for work already completed, preparation undertaken, time reserved, administration, meetings, record review, travel arrangements or other reasonable costs incurred.
Where a deposit, payment on account or advance payment has been made, any refund will depend on the work completed, time reserved and costs already incurred at the point of cancellation. Non-refundable elements may include administrative time, review time, preparation time, reserved expert availability and any third-party or travel costs already committed.
